Fire-bellied Toad Tank Setup

Whatever happens, the election of the President of the United States concerns us all. Consequently, everyone has an opinion on strengths and weaknesses of the two main title contenders. I hear a lot of things, which sometimes m'horripilent to the idealization of this election. First, obviously, this "Obamamania" I still can not break but that is based on several assumptions. First Obama represents change, just as the same revenue com 'which in France have shown Sarkozy as a candidate for rupture. In both cases, it is called professional politician, lawyer before have broader ambitions, and are just enough "immigrants" to not having to remember while not having to prove their openness to the world . I recall Obama even if he has Kenyan roots, is a MAN, which in itself poses no particular change. If we had a welcome innovation in these elections, it would appoint a woman vice-president by the Republicans, but this time, as with Segolene Royal, was preferred to extend its self- saying they would never have blamed weaknesses in a man. Sarah Palin has positions on many social issues that scare me, especially on abortion or religion, but Obama is also worrying about its military program. Palin is accused of being a gourd, they forget that Obama is confident that there is 57 States USA. The world wants Obama to be president because he is young and excellent communication. Moreover, Republican support is suspect: they are bad guys who only think about money. Lincoln, President abolitionist, was a Republican, and if we talk about wealth, Obama's war chest is much bigger than McCain. As proof, the half-hour of propaganda that was offered on American television shows and he can spend freely.

Is that enough to win an election? If the world voted, Obama would be elected, but fortunately, only the Americans choose their leader. One non-WASP has been elected so far, the Irish Catholic Kennedy. We know the importance of its communication, including the famous debate against Nixon was in 1960, an innovation with the arrival of television in the arsenal of candidates. Obama has capitalized on the Internet, which is intelligent, while putting McCain on robocalls, which would be retrograde. They forget that the number of households connected to the Internet are not inhabited by geeks, and that the impact of the Internet is still marginal in 2008. For networks, Kennedy had received support from other famous teamsters, Irish (now 65 million voters potential) and managed to unite the minorities on its behalf. Obama has more problems: even if the polls give widely winner (like Kerry in the same period in 2004), many voters prefer to declare their support for Democratic candidate but can not bring themselves to vote for a black. McCain, by contrast, combines the advantages: a glorious military past, a spotless political experience, a reputation for maverick and foremost, is a white man. He accuses her age, which is understandable, and have added a woman as VP, that remains for me a source of wonder: how France, among other progressive democracies, it may not welcome this progress that Democrats never dared, and even they rejected inducting Obama rather than Clinton?

Let me be clear: I have nothing against Obama, although I'm leaning toward McCain for years. American democracy is such that the party does not mean much, a Republican from NYC is very close in their ideas of a Democrat from Texas. There is not 1 but 50 Republican parties, and ditto for the Democrats. There are no Red States or Blue States, but a purple America, which suggests that intellectuals are on the East Coast and the rednecks in the Midwest is an arrogant ruling shows that clings to the image of the USA that broadcasts Hollywood. In recent weeks I have been fortunate to travel to New York and Brussels. America continues to make me dream, while Europe remains a mystery. Where is Europe? What do its leaders? What destiny we offer? The American dream continues with her during a nightmare and the multiple defects that can blame the 50 states (I recall a case where botcrawlers Democrat Obama would pass through here). But it is clear that when the U.S. go wrong, as the world goes wrong.

Whatever the result, the page will be shot Bush. We know what we lost, it is unclear what will win. I just wish that if Obama becomes president, he did not manage a crisis flares. But I think next week it will be another Republican in the White House. I can totally wrong, and I repeat, Obama and McCain have an advantage. But frankly, who wants Biden as President of the bureaucrat? In Europe, perhaps, but not in the U.S..
